Public transport

In front of the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) go below ground to the metro (Stadtbahn), then:

  • Blocks 1-4 (South Stand) & blocks M-T (Main Stand): Take line 4 for ‘Universität/Lohmannshof' and get off at ‘Rudolf Oetker Halle.
  • Block B-J (West / North Stand): Take line 4 for ‘Universität/Lohmannshof' and get off at ‘Graf von Stauffenberg Strasse'. OR: Take bus no. 25 or 26 for ‘Dürerstrasse' from the ‘Jahnplatz' stop (not from the ‘Hauptbahnhof'!) to ‘Drögestrasse'.
  • Blocks A1 & A2 (away fans): Take line 3 for ‘Babenhausen Süd' and get off at ‘Wittekindstrasse' or ‘Nordpark'. OR: Take the bus as above.
  • Tickets for Arminia home games also count incidentally as your ticket for local public transport: Information


By car

  • Coming from the Hanover direction on match days: Leave motorway at junction 28, ‘Ostwestfalen-Lippe'. Follow signs for ‘Bi-Altenhagen', then ‘Bielefeld Zentrum' , then ‘SchücoArena'. That brings you to the university car parks (see ‘Parking space' below). To get straight to the SchücoArena: Leave motorway at junction 28, ‘Ostwestfalen-Lippe'. Follow signs for ‘Bi-Altenhagen', then ‘Bielefeld Zentrum', then ‘Ostwestfalendamm' (B61 towards Gütersloh). Exit at ‘Stapenhorstrasse'. The stadium is on the right after c. 1km.
  • From the Dortmund direction: Leave the A2 motorway at junction 26, ‘Bielefeld Sennestadt'. Follow signs for ‘Brackwede/Osnabrück'. After c. 6km turn right onto ‘Ostwestfalendamm' (the B61, towards ‘Bielefeld Zentrum'). Exit at ‘Stapenhorstrasse'. The stadium is on the right after c. 1km.
  • Due to the limited amount of parking space in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, it is best to park in the university car parks (top left on the map), from where ticket holders can travel to the stadium free of charge on metro line 4.
  • Due to long-term major construction work on Detmolder Strasse (B66) it is
  • advisable to avoid using the ‘Bielefeld Zentrum' exit on the A2.
  • Coaches (away fans): Approach likewise via the Ostwestfalendamm (B61). Exit at Stapenhorststrasse, heading for ‘Universität/Stadion’ (leaving the stadium behind you on the right). Turn right at the 4th set of traffic lights into Kurt Schumacher Strasse. After two more sets of lights, go right into Jakob Kaiser Strasse. Right again at the end into Schlosshofstrasse and along to the police barrier.

By air

  • Münster/Osnabrück Airport: 90km / c. 1 hour's drive to Bielefeld:
    A1 for Osnabrück, then A30 for Hanover, then A33 for Bielefeld
  • Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport: 65km / c. 50 minutes' drive to Bielefeld:
    A33 for Bielefeld
  • Hanover Airport: 115km / c. 70 minutes' drive to Bielefeld:
    A352 for Bielefeld, then A2 for Bielefeld
  • Dortmund Airport: 105km / c. 70 minutes' drive to Bielefeld:
    A44 for Paderborn, then A1 for Münster, then A2 for Bielefeld
